Working as Team Lead, I was building the orchestration subsystem, part of the backend for the TARGET2 platform (Bundesbank)
TARGET2 is a payment system owned and operated by the Eurosystem. It is the leading European platform for processing large-value payments and is used by both central banks and commercial banks to process payments in euro in real time.
In 2019 the system processed a daily average of 344 120 payments, representing a daily average value of €1,731 billion.

As Data Engineer, we were building a data lake based on AWS (Kinesis, Presto, Parquet, Glue, Athena, ..) to create product analytics.
Using several modern java frameworks and technologies (Kafka, Java 8, Reactive Java, Spring Boot) we created a data pipeline, importing 4 billion data objects daily within a micro services landscape in an Event Driven Architecture.
